LA/NECA understands the high cost of business insurance, especially for electrical contractors, which is why we sponsor insurance programs that are custom tailored to suit our members’ needs. Our business insurance plans include:
Workers Compensation: The NECA West Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program is the core insurance program for members of the National Electrical Contractors Association in California. The program accelerates claims settlements by reducing attorney involvement in the process and may lower your workers’ compensation premiums. The NECA West ADR program is the only ADR program endorsed by both the IBEW and NECA and approved by the State of California. The ADR program works as an addition to the your workers’ compensation insurance plan (whether a private insurance carrier or the State Fund) to help lower costs.
Health Insurance: Several health insurance options are available for NECA contractor office personnel (who may not be covered by a CBA plan) through the Cal NECA Health Plan. Options include Blue Shield, Kaiser, Delta Dental and Vision Service Plan.
LA/NECA recognizes the importance of providing meaningful educational programs designed to enhance and expand the skills of its members and their employees. Our chapter routinely offers courses to members that cover topics such as estimating, change orders, construction law and other relevant subjects to further member education and promote career success.
Classes are conducted both online and in-person by experts in their respective fields and provide valuable learning experiences for members. The types of programs offered include:
- Basic Estimating of Electrical Construction
- Advanced Estimating Strategies
- Developing and Managing Project Schedules
- Leadership Training
